Vibrant Base Colors

These are a collection of inheritable recessive mutations that create unnatural coat colors on the Amoux. They are able to combine, creating a wider range of colors. Combination of all three in the visual form creates an Opaline base, and allows the Amoux to be any color.

Color modifiers allow for bright, saturated colors to be used when designing your Amoux. At minimum the color modifier may affect the base coat, one marking (including Free Markings), or the fur on the tail, arms, and cheeks. At maximum the color modifier may affect the base coat and all markings.
Color modifiers do not affect Piebald, Inked, Amphi, Delic, Monarch, or Frilled.
They also do not completely override any of the Recessive Color Modifiers; they usually interact with them in some way. Check individual guides for more information.

There are three basic Vibrant Base colors:

  • Garnet [gargar]

  • Citrine [citcit]

  • Aquamarine [aquaqu]

Two of the base color modifiers can combine with each other to make even more colors:

  • Garnet and Citrine combine to make Sunstone

  • Citrine and Aquamarine combine to make Labradorite

  • Aquamarine and Garnet combine to make Amethyst

All three Vibrant base colors combine to make the Opaline base color, which allows for the entire color spectrum to be used when designing your Amoux. Opaline Amoux do not have to show every color in the rainbow, but any color is permissible for them.

Interactions with other markings:

  • The only marks which cannot be affected by color modifiers are Piebald and Inked.

  • Aberrant Pattern, Albino, Axanthic, Erythristic, Leucistic, Melanistic and Vitiligo mutations will override and/or change color modifiers. Please refer to their individual guides for details.

  • Hypomelanistic, Hypermelanistic, and Mirage layer over Vibrant base colors and so will dilute, darken, and/or desaturate them.

  • Any markings which specify they must be lighter or darker than their base, and marks which lighten or darken the base must still follow such rules when being affected by a color modifier.

  • When combined with color modifiers Iridescent allows for fully saturated coloration.
